Dr. Bawumia Asserts NPP’s Record Will Secure December Election Victory

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), expressed confidence that the NPP’s achievements over the past eight years will lead to victory in the December 7 elections. Dr. Bawumia highlighted the party’s major initiatives, including the introduction of free senior high school (SHS), and emphasized that NPP’s track record speaks for itself.

During his campaign visit to Okaishie in Accra’s Central Business District, Dr. Bawumia shared his vision for prioritizing the needs of traders should he assume the presidency. He outlined plans to introduce a flat tax rate for imports, aimed at easing the tax burden on traders, and also pledged to provide a tax amnesty to give all taxpayers a fresh start.

Supporting Women Traders
Dr. Bawumia also announced a proposed Women’s Trade Empowerment Fund, aimed at supporting women in business and helping them overcome financial challenges. This initiative, he noted, aligns with the NPP’s goal to empower women and strengthen local commerce.

Enthusiastic Crowds
As he visited popular markets including the Tuesday Market at Mamprobi, 31st December Market at Makola, and Kantamanto, Dr. Bawumia was greeted by chants of “Number One!” and “Free SHS!” from enthusiastic supporters and market traders. He was accompanied by Samuel Sarbah Lartey, NPP’s parliamentary candidate for Ablekuma South, and other party officials.

The energetic atmosphere continued as some supporters even removed their own NPP-branded T-shirts to share with others in the crowd. Dr. Bawumia’s tour also included a visit to the traditional leaders of Okaishie, where he presented his platform to support traders and promote economic stability.

Dr. Bawumia’s campaign through Accra’s markets showcased his optimism and firm belief that the NPP’s record in government will resonate with voters come December, as he aims to build on the party’s legacy with what he describes as “bold solutions.”
