Agradaa Vows to Return $800 Gift from Sammy Gyamfi Amid Mounting Criticism

Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, widely known as Nana Agradaa, has announced her decision to return an $800 cash gift she received from Sammy Gyamfi, the Acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board. This move comes in the wake of growing public backlash and calls from the Minority in Parliament for Gyamfi’s dismissal.

The controversy erupted after a video surfaced online, showing Gyamfi handing over what appeared to be U.S. dollars to Agradaa. The footage quickly went viral, sparking outrage and prompting opposition lawmakers to describe the gesture as “inappropriate” and demand Gyamfi’s immediate removal from office.

In response to the criticism, Agradaa addressed the issue in a live video on Instagram, expressing concern over the impact the gift could have on Gyamfi’s career. “My conscience won’t allow me to be the reason someone loses their job. I’ll return the $800 and record the moment if that’s what it takes for the NDC members to back off,” she stated.

Agradaa also indicated her willingness to go a step further by offering twice the amount to help clear Gyamfi’s name. “I’m ready to give back the $800—and even double it. I’ll locate his office and take my camera along to show all Ghanaians that I’ve returned the money,” she affirmed.

The incident continues to draw significant attention, with many watching closely to see how it unfolds in the coming days.
