First National Bank Names Adwoa Boateng-Addo as New Chief People Officer

First National Bank has appointed Adwoa Boateng-Addo as its new Chief People Officer, effective immediately. She succeeds Ernestina Danquah, who retired on April 30, 2025, after nearly a decade of dedicated service as Head of Human Resources.
Adwoa brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as the bank’s Senior Human Resource Business Partner. In that position, she played a pivotal role in implementing key HR initiatives and led strategic projects including performance enablement platform transitions and the development of the bank’s employee value proposition. She is recognized for her ability to build high-trust relationships and influence at executive levels.
Commenting on the appointment, First National Bank CEO Warren Adams stated, “Adwoa’s elevation to Chief People Officer reflects our commitment to nurturing talent from within—our philosophy of ‘growing our own timber.’ We are confident that under her leadership, our people strategy will continue to thrive and adapt.”
In her new role, Adwoa will oversee the bank’s strategic people agenda, focusing on areas such as talent development, organisational design, and performance enablement.
“We have no doubt that she will deliver exceptionally in this expanded capacity,” Adams added.
