Hajia4Real Set to Be Released from U.S. Prison Today Following Fraud Conviction

Ghanaian socialite and musician Mona Faiz Montrage, widely known as Hajia4Reall, is expected to be released today, May 22, 2025, from the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia.

The 32-year-old is completing a one-year and one-day prison sentence after being convicted of conspiracy to receive stolen money, according to a report by Graphic Showbiz.

Montrage’s conviction is linked to her role in a West Africa-based criminal network that orchestrated romance scams and online fraud, targeting older, vulnerable Americans. The fraudulent operations are reported to have swindled victims out of more than $2 million.

Prosecutors disclosed that Hajia4Reall personally received illicit funds from around 40 victims. These payments were funneled into U.S. bank accounts under false identities and through complex schemes, which included fabricated stories about gold shipments and fake FBI operations.

A prominent public figure with a large following on Instagram, Montrage was extradited from the United Kingdom to the United States in May 2023. She later pleaded guilty in February 2024 and was sentenced by U.S. District Judge J. Paul Oetken on June 28, 2024.
