PRESIDENT MAHAMA HAS BROUGHT DUMSOR PRO MAX – Afenyo Markin

Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has taken aim at the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC), accusing the government of failing to deliver on key promises, particularly regarding stable electricity supply.

Speaking during the Minority Caucus’s assessment of the government’s performance after its first 120 days in office, Afenyo-Markin criticized what he described as a disappointing start to the NDC administration. “Very little appears to be working under the new government,” he remarked on Thursday, May 8.

He emphasized the ongoing challenges in the power sector, saying, “Industries continue to suffer due to unreliable electricity. What I call Dumsor Pro Max is unfolding before our eyes.”

Afenyo-Markin also criticized the government for not fulfilling its campaign promise to increase the price of cocoa from GHS3,000 to GHS6,000 per bag, stating that the failure has left cocoa farmers disappointed.

According to the Minority Leader, the NDC’s campaign promises have so far amounted to “more talk than action,” raising concerns about the government’s ability to meet the expectations it set ahead of the 2024 elections.
