Titus Glover appointed as MD of VALCO

Titus Glover, a former Member of Parliament for the Tema East constituency in Ghana, has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Volta Aluminium Company Limited (VALCO).

In a letter dated March 2, 2023, the presidency entreated the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor, to take the needed steps to regularize his appointment in accordance with the law.

VALCO is a major aluminium smelter located in the port city of Tema, Ghana, and is one of the largest employers in the country. The company, which was established in 1965, produces high-quality aluminium products for both domestic and international markets.

Glover brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as the Deputy Minister of Transport and a Member of Parliament for Tema East. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in public administration.

His appointment has been welcomed by industry experts and stakeholders, who see it as a positive step towards the revitalization of the aluminum industry in Ghana. They believe that Glover’s leadership and experience will help drive growth and increase profitability for VALCO and the wider sector.
