Births and Deaths Registry Warns Public: No Licensed Agents Operating on Its Behalf

The Births and Deaths Registry has issued a strong warning to the public, urging caution against individuals or groups posing as its agents. The Registry clarified that it has not authorized any third party to operate or provide services on its behalf.

In an interview with Channel One News on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, Deputy Registrar Nicholas Osei Bonsu emphasized that all official transactions and services are handled exclusively by the Registry’s designated district and regional officers.

“When you make a payment, you must obtain an official receipt, fill out your information, attach the necessary documents, and submit them directly to us. There is no need to pay anyone else,” Mr. Osei Bonsu stated.

He stressed that the registration process is simple and does not require intermediaries.

“We have not licensed any agents nor authorized anyone to act on our behalf,” he reiterated. “Only our district and regional officers are mandated to conduct registrations.”

The Registry encouraged the public to report any individuals claiming to be agents and reminded citizens to access services only through official channels.
