ECG Announces Planned Power Outages for May 13–14, 2025 in Accra and Tema

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a scheduled two-day maintenance exercise set to take place on Tuesday, May 13 and Wednesday, May 14, 2025. The planned works are aimed at improving electricity service reliability and ensuring a more stable power supply in parts of the Greater Accra and Tema regions.

According to public notices issued by ECG, maintenance activities will be carried out daily between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., although in some locations, work will end earlier, by 3:00 p.m.

Affected Areas – Tuesday, May 13

Greater Accra Region:
Power supply will be interrupted in Pokuase Pharmacy, Ayawaso Station, Nii Ayii, Odumase, Amanfrom, Nsakina, Kotoku Papase, Papase Soldier Line, SCC, Old Barrier, Bortianor, Choice, Tseaddo, Oyibi, and nearby communities.

Tema Region:
The outage will affect areas including Jomef, Vodafone, Community 9 Market, Vienna City, Community 18, Devtraco, Koi Larbi, Adotey, City Escape, Miotso, Ghanaman Soccer Academy, Fish Feed, Noble Estates, Prampram Township, Kpoi Ete, Oasis, Oman, and surrounding communities. In these areas, work is expected to conclude by 3:00 p.m.

Affected Areas – Wednesday, May 14

Greater Accra Region:
Communities including Abeka, Tesano Park, Santana Market, Ofankor Franko, Haatso, and Achimota will experience power interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Tema Region:
Power outages are scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Community 25, Ghana Flag, Bulasu, Casilda Estates, Afienya Zongo, Hot Oven, Imperial Perkin, China Mall, T Havana, Kaketo, Okro Market, Ashaiman Bus Terminal, Apenyo, Asensu Bar, Valco Flats, and surrounding areas.

ECG has apologised for the inconvenience the maintenance work may cause, emphasizing that it is essential for improving service quality. “ECG regrets the inconvenience caused to affected customers,” the company stated.

Customers are encouraged to take necessary precautions and plan accordingly to minimize disruptions. ECG further advises the public to stay informed by following official communication channels.
